Washing machines in earlier times were of wooden material and were operated manually. Since then the washing machines have change in design, shape and of course technology. It works on the basic concept of mechanical, thermal, chemical and electrical energy and washes off all type of stains on our clothes.

Today the machines are with new technology so that we get stain free, clean laundry wash. There are machines which use the technology to make our clothes germ free. They help in keeping our clothes germ free and fungus free. This is available in Samsung and LG washing machine.

The Samsung machines are with the silver nano technology. This technology is introduced by any company for the first time. The machine thus uses electrolysis technique by which it releases silver ions which sterilize our cloths and make them germ free.

British scientists and engineers have developed a washing machine that works on only one cup of water. Machine thus uses only one cup of water to wash clothes. Hence the clothes are dry and clean after the wash.  The scientists of Leeds University have designed a machine that uses plastic chips to absorb the dirt and stains on our clothes. These machines use the thermal energy as well by which the water in the machine heats up. As the water heats the plastic chips absorb the dirt on the clothes leaving them clean. These chips are collected at the end of the wash and thus are reusable.

There are machine that use steam technology. By this technique the clothes are washed more properly and require less ironing. Samsung is in the market with the machines having two types of options to, anti crease option and rinse hold option which make the wash safer for the delicate clothes and reduce the creasing as well.

The machines are there in the market with the top loading and front loading options. The capacity has also changed over the years. Today the machines are available in different sizes according to the quantity of laundry that you wash. If you wash a large quantity of laundry on weekly basis then there are options of 10kg or more capacity of machines.

Today the machines are made of rust resistant material that is more durable and of longer life. The machines are designed today so that they use less water, work on less electricity, and wash all type of clothes ranging from delicate ones to those with tough stains. They are designed such that they can effectively remove nine types of different stains giving us clean washed clothes each time.
